About Us

The Beginning

So Danca opened its first stores in Sao Paulo, Brazil in the mid 80’s. In 1986, in order to meet our own stringent production standards, So Danca setup its own factory. Just three years later, production was transferred to a larger facility and artisans and technicians were hired to start manufacturing footwear.
Over time our standard of quality became known worldwide and So Danca became the preferred manufacturer for America’s largest and best known dance brand.

New Horizons

Over the next 15 years, distribution partnerships were established in countries across the globe including Australia. In 2008, the company opened a purpose built factory in the Dominican Republic for its ever growing demand.

Something You Didn’t Know

Our company now supplies 50 countries across the globe, with headquarters in the USA, Canada, Brazil, Russia, Portugal, Italy, England, Australia and as of 2017 China!  Today, So Danca is the 2nd largest global dancewear brand and one of the few brands that does not use subcontractors.  Everything is manufactured inhouse at our purpose-built facilities in Brazil and the Dominican Republic.  We are a conscious corporation that is acutely aware of OHSR and its social responsibilities, providing employment and security for thousands of families.

From the first lesson to the stage, ballerinas to tap dancers, So Danca has the perfect shoe for everyone.  Our shoes are best sellers all over the world and are now available in Australia and New Zealand through our local dancewear retail partners. With the innovation of an elastic casing replacing the drawstring, So Danca has become the preferred ballet flat while our ballroom and character shoes are known for their incomparable comfort.  Special Taps – So Danca’s signature custom made professional taps, has set a new bench mark in personalising your shoes.

So Danca Australia HQ is in Newcastle NSW and many Australian dance retailers and dance schools already stock and use our products.
